Martial Arts is practiced for many reasons. Some parents are looking for something to improve their children’s behavior and social skills. Other parents are looking for focus to help improve their children’s grades. Others have active children who perform best in a structured program that channels their energy. And others are just looking for more fitness & wellness to enter their children’s lives.
Double Dragon is Kitchener Waterloo’s best martial arts club for children. We provide a state of the art, high performance facility with highly motivating and personable instructors. Our martial arts classes provide a great workout that keep children healthy, fit and strong while learning how to live life with confidence, discipline, strength and respect. Our martial arts classes help children concentrate, set goals, focus and learn the value of hard work as they advance through our belt system. Children learn how to thwart bullies, stand up for themselves and resolve conflicts with peace and safety in mind.
In our Kung Fu Kids program children train in Five Animal Style Shaolin Kung Fu. Based upon the behavior and movements of the Tiger, Crane, Snake, Leopard, and Dragon, our Shaolin Kung Fu provides a wide variety of fun drills and exercises that keep children’s interest and build flexibility, coordination, athleticism and core strength. Our Black Sash Sifus provide the right combination of motivation and discipline that enable children to focus and quickly develop respect, compassion, internal strength, confidence, perseverance and leadership.
Our Kung Fu kids program is recommended for children from 4 to 13 years of age. We only ask that your child is capable of following simple age appropriate directions and show respect to other members. For children, Double Dragon is a place where they can channel their energy in a positive and healthy way. Kids learn they can achieve goals and have fun doing so. They catch on quickly to the respectful environment allowing self esteem and self discipline to flourish.
A typical kids Kung Fu class starts with a 10 minute cardio warm up followed by 10 minutes of stretching and 30 minutes of technical instruction and practice before finishing with 10 minutes of conditioning exercises or a game.
